Clockwise from the top: Ken, Isai, Azen, KoreanDJ, Mang0, PC Chris and Mew2King Give me suggestions for future articles. The Smash Brothers DVD cover. These reasons are why Chu should've been given a episode in the Smash Brothers Documentary. ChuDat placed solidly at almost every large event as he never won it but always put up respectable results. (When one IC does something and the other is preforming a different action). ![]() The reason this was significant was because at the time ChuDat's East Coast relationship was in shambles and Chillen felt betrayed.ĬhuDat instead learned and used desnycs. Before the wobble was banned though, Chillendude showed Ken how to break out of it by mashing at a early percent. ChuDat also used the wobble, a tool soon banned for its brokenness. ChuDat took what was thought to be a low tier at the time and made it into a top tier As ChuDat is credited with the tremendous jump of IC's on the tier list. ChuDat was also the pioneer of Ice Climbers. Ken was furious and made Chu sleep on his floor. He chose to back East Coast for H2YL and took 7 stocks in the crew battle. ChuDat was forced to pick sides in the 10v10, 40 stock, East Coast vs West Coast crew battle. ChuDat's roots were with East Coast though, as he had his crew, H2YL, (Ha-Ha You Lose) consisting notably of Azen and Chillen. ChuDat had ties to West Coast as he dated Ken's sister, Hellen. A extensive part of old school Melee was the vicious rivalry between the East Coast and West Coast and ChuDat was caught in the middle of it. ChuDat also has old school history backing him up. ChuDat's legacy is a long and great one filled with many tournaments. As someone who has started from the beginning of Melee's to the current state of it ChuDat is currently the best old school player. This is why KDJ got a episode in the documentary- while he may not have had the extensive background of tournaments like Chu KDJ was a sexy, flashy, story of emotional high and lows.ĬhuDat has stood the test of time. Someone who was always there, placed well, but never won anything. ChuDat was a lot like a 2015 and before Hungrybox. From a story and a narrative perspective KDJ is extremely interesting and unique as his legacy is a quick, heartbreaking story of someone who rose from nowhere to lose at the final challenge- MLG Las Vegas. People argue about how ChuDat should of received a episode and maybe KDJ shouldn't have. He played a little after the MLG Days Going to MLG Long Island 2007 and small tournaments here and there. KDJ's final tournament of significance, MLG Las Vegas 2006 championship losing in grand finals placing second to PC Chris. The 2006 MLG New York season opener placing 9th, MLG DALLAS 2006 placing 4th, MLG Anaheim 2006 placing 6th, MLG Chicago 2006 placing 7th, MLG Orlando 2006 placing 3rd, MLG New York Playoffs 2006, placing 4th. KDJ played in 6 MLG tournaments in his smash career. The Sheik main was described as fiery and aggressive with a dedication toward practice. ![]() KDJ was the quickest to rise and fall from Melee as he played for a year. He played long enough to be consider a significant figure in Melee history. 2 years of MLG and a year of grassroots tournaments. After that, PC went to the unsponsored MLG Long Island 2007, MLG then decided to stop sponsoring Melee tournaments. Finally, PC Chris won it all beating KDJ to win the 2006 MLG Las Vegas championships. PC strongly rebounded by placing 2nd at the 2006 MLG New York playoffs. PC started to slip at MLG Chicago placing 5th and then fell apart placing 13th at MLG Orlando. At MLG Dallas 2006 PC placed 3rd and at MLG Anaheim he took 2nd. At the MLG 2006 Opener at New York, PC Chris bested Ken. PC finished strong placing 3rd at both MLG Chicago, and MLG New York. Then, at MLG Philadelphia, PC placed 2nd. PC Chris started at MLG DC 2005 placing 17th. (BombSoldier maybe being as good, if not better than PC). The green Falco had a amazing combo game and crisp movement that had never been seen before PC. PC Chris is known as the second rival to Ken.Īfter Azen stopped playing Melee, PC Chris rapidly rose to prominence as the challenger to Ken's throne.
